The Aeon Flux

Quoted from: http://www.bibleresearch.org/articles/a9pws.htm

The following describes a most unfortunate mistranslation in the Holy Bible’s Book of Revelation. Sorry for the inconvenience. I believe you can complain to the Greek Elysians, but not Heaven’s Angels or the Holy Roman Angels which shared Heaven before the Flux.

“SATAN’S PUNISHMENT

“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season” (Rev.20:1-3 KJV). See also Isa.24:21-22.

That’s cute, Jesus. Over one hundred years is not a little season to us.

At the beginning of the millennium, this powerful evil being will be bound and held in a prison for a thousand years, after which he will be released for a short time. But what will happen to him after his release? Will he be allowed to continue his existence or will he be destroyed?

He didn’t used to be that powerful and evil. He was a guy in Egypt with a pet golden cat. The pharoah took his cat so that his pet golden cat would have a buddy to walk with. Later he freed the Jews, basically. It was an issue. The Jews had other help, too. Getting a whole people freed can be difficult. He may have been involved in the American Civil War, where millions turned against each other and 8 million good American people died killing each other. The slaves were, once again, freed though. No wonder he became so powerful. People remember that shit.

“When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Rev.20:7-10 NIV).

There is a whole lot here that is just wrong, Jesus. I think maybe because you were prophesying into a time during which people expect you to appear based on other prophesies, AND you are ignoring other Gods by virtue of the thousand (?) years of monotheism, there was maybe a snafu. Was that a deal that YHWH made to lock up his cro(w)ny even further? Man would that guy be pissed huh?

If this translation of verse 10 is taken at face value, it seems to say that Satan will be cast into a lake of fire to be tortured for eternity. But, does the phrase for ever and ever mean an eternity in the original Greek language?

For Ever and Ever

The English phrase for ever and ever in verse 10 is a gross mis-translation of the original Greek phrase eis tous aeonas ton aionon, which means, ‘to the ages of the ages’. A more correct translation of verse 10 is as follows:

“And the devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and false prophet were. And shall be tormented day and night until the age of ages.”

Satan will not endure everlasting punishing; he will have his existence terminated; he will cease to exist forever. The age spoken of in verse 10 is the termination of an age. It is the time when the existence of physical humans on earth will end. Moreover, it is a time when a new age will begin and the mystery of what God is doing here on earth will be revealed.

This is so important it is ridiculous to sell current versions of the Bible. Perhaps Satan could comment on whether he likes this version.

Satan Will Die”

We all do. Whenever they say lake of fire think Lord of the Rings. It is the second death but many Christians are neither kind nor numerate.

    A Little Season -

Note that at the Fifth Seal (Re.6:9 below) the heavenly saints are asking the Lord, How long before you judge and avenge our blood upon THEM THAT DWELL ON THE EARTH? (Re.6:10 below). And it is said to them that they should rest yet for A LITTLE SEASON until their fellowservants also AND their brethren, that should be killed AS THEY WERE KILLED, should be fulfilled (Re.6:11 below).

The fellowservants also AND their brethren that should be killed AS THEY WERE KILLED will take place during the “tribulation”. Their fellowservants also and their brethren (Re.6:11 below) are the two witnesses.

The seven years fall between the Sixth SEAL (Re.6:12-17) and the Seventh TRUMPET (1 Thess.4:16-17) ascension.

The first three and a half years of the seven years the two witnesses will have God-given power (Re.11:3 below), but AFTER they have finished their testimony (AFTER the first three and a half years) the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them for the duration of the last three and a half years (Re.11:7 below), culminating at the ascension (1 Thess.4:16-17).

After the Millennium, Satan is loosed “a little season” (Re.20:1-3 below), the same amount of time Fifth Seal saints are told they are to rest yet (Re.6:9-11 below).

Re. 6:9 And when he had opened the FIFTH SEAL, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain (Rev.6:11 below) for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

Re.6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

Re.6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them; that they should rest yet for a little season (Re.20:3 below), until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Re.11:3 And I WILL GIVE POWER (Dan.8:24, Dan.12:7) unto my TWO WITNESSES, and they shall prophesy (Re.10:11) A THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND THREESCORE DAYS, clothed in sackcloth. (1260 days or 3 ½ years)

Re.11:7 And when they (the two witnesses) shall have FINISHED their testimony (after 1260 days/3 1/2 years, Re.11:3 above), THE BEAST THAT ASCENDETH OUT OF THE BOTTOMLESS PIT (Re.13:11-17, Re.17:8, Ps.28:1) SHALL MAKE WAR AGAINST THEM, and SHALL OVERCOME THEM, and KILL THEM.

Re.20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

Re.20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Re.20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed A LITTLE SEASON (Re.6:11 above).
