As an American hippies’ son, I have to say I think that the Beatles were genious to put this on an album cover. Too bad too many Americans are puritans at heart. Thanks for the post. I have been looking all over for this picture.

I Love The Beatles, And If I’m Not Mistaken I Believe That This Means Stop Killing Our Childern At War L.B.J. Or Something Very Similar, Because The Beatles Wanted To Prove That War Is Not Needed. i was alive while the beatles were at their most famous and they meant nothing bad by that photo. people just take things way too serious. its not like they go out killing babies and putting raw meat on them. i mean come on people. they were the best band of the 60’s.

The Beatles were English and therefore brave and had nerves of steel and hearts of lions, unlike Americans who are full of bravado and bullshit.
The Beatles are the best band ever. They changed music forever and their songs still sound like the best music even played today. That is the work of genius. This album cover however, no matter the artistic intention, was probably their biggest stumble of their careers. That and John’s comment that they were more popular than Jesus. Take away those two gaffes and the Beatles would’ve been even more popular in America.
